Can we attempt to change our sponsor after admin processing? Our case was finally approved today after 9 months in AP!!! we weren’t able to give anything to the officer at the interview that had my updated financial info trying to prove I can be his sponsor and we no longer need our current sponsor. We were told to send in his passport. Should we send in a letter with evidence for sponsoring him with it?

I wouldn't.    Send them exactly what they asked for.  What do you mean by "Our case was approved"?  Until the visa status has changed to "Issued", it is not approved.

Ok I will reword my comment. Our administrative processing was completed today. Do you know how we can change our sponsor? Thanks!

After waiting this long for AP the embassy will require a new medical exam and possibly a new I 864 with supporting evidence

u can make sure this is available to the intending immigrant in case the embassy asks

8 months in AP would mean u interviewed with 2020 tax transcripts

now the embassy needs 2021 and i am surprised they didn't ask for them

Yes we know we need a new medical. They did not mention anything about financial documents or anything else. They only mentioned the passport and a new medical.

You can upload the new I-864 plus supporting documents to CEAC. I would also upload a letter explaining that you no longer need a joint sponsor.  However, it could delay your case.

Good chance of further delay, but understand also that the Consular Officer making the decision on public charge may not agree you don't need a joint sponsor. It's their judgment call to make.  If you know your joint sponsor is never going to be on the hook because the couple can and will take care of themselves financially, I would DO NOTHING besides provide exactly what they ask for.  New financial documents are not always needed after AP as all the other decisions have already been made.  The medical expired so must be redone.  They wouldn't even care if the police reports are too old now.  The AP was far more thorough than any police report.

Why would you change it if it isn't broken? I agree with the above posters. Don't start complicating simple matters after waiting all this long in AP.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Because personally I don’t want to involve others if I am able to by myself…. Anyways I will keep it the way it is. Thanks for your feedback.

The said person was already helping you out when you needed it.

Anyway, there is a potential for further delay if you change now. Your choice.

Good luck ☘
