ABANDONMENT OF MARRIAGE

I married a US citizen in July 2020, a month after marriage, I started noticing the change in behavior of my wife. Her mood and countenance changed drastically I mean a 360 degree change. Every time I tried to talk to her, she would not listen and this started with verbal abuse then gradually to physical abuse. I noticed another drastic change, she started hanging out with some strange people that most time she would return home with always drunk and high on drugs. She wasn't like this when we were dating and after we got married. Each time I tried to talk to her about it, it always resulted in big quarrels and fights. I don't hit but she has always been the one hitting me. An incident occurred where she actually threw an object at me luckily I moved fast and it was only a surface wound I had. Three months after our wedding, she left home and abandoned me. I have been trying to get hold of her so that we can get this issue resolved, but  can't because she no longer answers her calls. I have not yet filled in my document for change of status as well as Employment Authorization Document.

Please I would like to know if there is a way I can file in these documents without her and if I can go for interview without her. This marriage will be in its second year by July 2022.

You need to head over to the VAWA threads, I assume she is a US citizen.

In the meantime you need to collect evidence of her abuse

And obviously you need a Divorce lawyer

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
