Hey guys,

Based on new guidelines they dont provide paper i94 anymore (https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/i-94). I asked and i could not have one.

Per the SSN guide here it says to wait 2 weeks to go at the SSN office. I can see already the i94 updated with my k1 entry today as now are more automated I believe. Does this means that I can go directly to SSN office or is irrelevant and is recommended to wait two weeks?

Thank you in advance

I94 info on cbp website has nothing to do with how SSO verifies your status with uscis database. It'll take a while that's why they say wait for 2 weeks. You can start calling the offices to get the appointment though, they may not be readily available.

i94 has been electronic for years now.  SSA offices suspended walk-in services since the pandemic began and it’s been difficult for many to book an appointment. I suggest you get started on securing one now.

@powerpuff, @arken may I ask you, can we get the marriage lisence (no getting married, certificate) before I have the SSN and then once i confirm it to actually get married so to win some time?

Depends on a state, but I believe in most states you do not need an ssn to get married.

Hey guys

So sorry I think I may have misunderstood something.

Can I apply for SSN with an unexpired i94 both before marriage and after marriage before submit EAD?

Or as soon as I get married I have to wait the adjustment application to get one?

Please also note I will change my name too and as far as I read at the guide, need to go back to SSO for updating this.

You need to apply before day 75 of the 90 days (sooner the better, you know how slow SSN works, even if you go before day 75 but if they don’t actually process it and issue it before then, they won’t give it to you), it can be before or after you marry, but it has to be in your maiden name because they have to match it to USCIS records.   After you get your EAD or GC (which will be in your married name) go back to SSN and change your name.
