We have been documentarily qualified in May 2021 for CR-1. My wife is a Canadian citizen and I am a US citizen. It seems the wait times are longer due to pandemic. My question, if anyone can answer, is that can my wife stay with me for a couple of months here in the U.S. while we wait for the interview call from Montreal consulate? She has been to the the U.S. several times before we got married; also, she has been to the U.S. recently to visit me just last month. Are there any legal implications? We are not trying to change anything. All she is doing that instead of waiting in Canada, she will spend 2-3 months here in the U.S.

Visiting is perfectly fine as long as she is allowed to enter.

Canadian here. I visited my husband multiple times during the process and never had an issue. It helps to have proof that she isn't trying to stay, so leases/mortgage or a letter from her employer. I always carried with me receipt notices so they saw I was following the spousal visa process correctly and not trying to sneak in.
