I-130 for one parent (US citizen petitioner)

Hi everyone,

 

asking for my brother who is US citizen and filed I-130 for my mother. 01/2020 was received and no update at all! Is this normal for current processing time? Country of residence is Morocco. We wanted to ask before we call USCIS for update if that’s even an option

Nothing was normal in 2020

all offices were closed and many officers were sick

this case normally would be outside processing times but since it was submitted in 2020,  its not abnormal but should have advanced to NVC by this time

your brother can send an inquiry about the case to the office handling the case

he needs to look at the actual I 797 receipt notice to see which office has the case

and then go to the following site to look up how to contact them

look under Inquires based on filing location

 

when he makes an inquiry he needs to site  case # , both names and both DOB's
