My fiancé from Russia and I are finalizing our initial filing of the i-129f but we need to list the consulate where we will apply for the visa abroad. With the indefinite closure of visa processing at the Moscow consulate, I don’t want to list the Moscow consulate. Are we able to list another consulate (for example, the consulate in Kazakhstan or Armenia) to have her visa processed in as she is a Russia citizen? We’d also like to avoid the Polish consulate as she does not have a schengen visa and would prefer to avoid the loophole through Greece.

I see many people trying to transfer their cases from the Moscow consulate due to the consulate’s closure and we’d like to avoid this if by the time our packet is approved, the consulate is still closed. Thank you all for the help!

is she living in another country with permanent residency?

the address on the petition is what immigration goes by

you don't get to choose

She is not. I’m asking because on the I-129f numbers 62a and 62b ask for which consular she will be applying for a visa at.

They ask but they don’t even look at that field. I don’t know why they even ask. They automatically send it to where she is physically located. I also listed a consulate I wanted to interview at but they just assigned it to the country I was living in temporarily.

but u don't get to choose

if there are more than 2 embassies in your country ,  you could choose the closest

but If like Morocco, there are 2 Rabat and Casablanca and only Casablanca does these interviews

Question 62a – 62b – Choose where your fiance wants to have the K-1 visa interview. Check usembassy.gov for a list of embassies available in his or her country. Be careful to pick one that processes K-1 visas carefully because not all embassies process them.

I concur, I'm not entirely sure why this question is here. I remember asking you previously about a similar question; I still listed Minsk even though the Belarus applicants are shipped to Warsaw. I feel like USCIS has a process for beneficiaries in countries where issues like this arise and it's best handled by them, unless you reside in two places; I think some countries that traditionally processed other K applicants are being super strict about only doing their own citizens now. I'd be really surprised to hear of a case where someone managed to interview at another location just because they asked for it on the I-129F.
