My friend says she will be coming to the US in November and won’t have to go to the embassy, is there a program where you get a visa without going through the embassy, because it’s a group of people and the representative will go the embassy on their behalf. I’ve never heard such kind of a program. Please enlighten me. Thank you

Sounds like a scam to me. Tell your friend to be careful. US visa applications requires applicants to physically show up at the embassy for biometrics and interviews.

You can apply as a group but that means the group gets the appointment together. 
 

The only people who don’t need to show up at an embassy for interview are under 14, over (…some age I forget now, 80? anyway old age exemption unlikely to apply here) and those applying for the same as an expired visa they had before IF the embassy they are in allows Dropbox applications for such.

I seem to remember about 20 years ago it was possible to do this in London, however they stopped that and I doubt it is doable anywhere now.
