Thank you for this! I just know some folks who have posted here have timelines that line up with NOA2 being around August 10th-ish, and fiancé and I received ours the 13th.

Yep you’re 110% right! I think someone on this thread who just got their NVC number had almost the same timeline as me so that’s why we called. Originally we were going to wait another week or so anyway but I saw that post and got excited haha. We will probably call again in another 10 days or so :)

we last saw each other: March 2020
I-129F sent: 12/24/2020

USCIS received: 12/29/2020

NOA1 notice date: 2/27/2021

NOA1 receipt date (backdated): 12/28/2020

NOA2: 08/11/2021

NOA2 paper copy: 08/18/2021

Hello All,

Stopping by to confirm that NVC told me today that they have received my case, but no case number yet. Our NOA2 was Aug 16.. I called at 12pm Eastern and was on hold for an hour. She told me to try again in a week and I should have a case number. I need to change my fiancée's country from Colombia to Panama, and she also explained how to do that (once I have our case number).

Progress!

Considering how many of you close to my timeline have posted about NVC telling you to wait the additional week, I'm gonna listen to my fiancé and allow the NVC up to 30 days before I pester him again. 😅 can't help my excitement when I see others posting about their case numbers though!

To be honest, this is probably a good idea. I waited on hold for an hour and didn't get a case number. I'm psyched to know that our case made it to NVC, but I'm not sure that was worth an hour of elevator music. That said, my anxiety and impatience get the better of me haha.

What is the benefit when you have you case number early? You can begin the visa application early and see when there are available appointments? Or when you have you case number you now can track when it's sent to embassy?

Removal of Conditions (I-751)
2/17/24: I-751 packet shipped via FedEx

2/20/24: I-751 packet delivered

2/22/24: Receipt Number available on USCIS Portal

2/27/24: Extension Letter Available Online, Biometric Re-use letter, "Case is being actively reviewed"

I can say "yes" to those 2 questions. What I meant by begin the visa application early is preparing the docs needed for interview. And you can start fill out DS-160 online (no need to submit it but just fill it out. It can be saved). You definitely can check your status CEAC once you got your case number. "In Transit" means they are sending the file to the embassy, "Ready" means the embassy received your file.

Agreed. Especially to following your case on CEAC. I was able to see it was sent to the embassy before I found out my expedite was approved

We called today after almost a month since NOA2 and they said they haven't even received it.

It can take up to 60 days they said.

It is a never ending story 🙂

I don't know how their system works...our NOA2 was August 11 and they said they received it August 25th, but still no update when we called them a second time yesterday. How is it others with the same NOA2 have either not even had their cases received by the NVC yet, and then there's some who have their case number already. I just wanna know how it works!!! LOL

We have a NOA2 date of August 10th, when we called last week they advised they hadn't received it yet and that we should count 6 weeks from 08/10 and try calling back 🤷🏾‍♀️

Well we have an update: we called NVC and got our case number today. Very strangely - my fiance called right on 7am and tried the number ending in 0888 or something similar - he got a weird message saying the NVC was closed due to bad weather UNTIL FEBRUARY (?????). He tried recalling the number a few times and got the same message.

Then he tried calling the number ending in 0700 - he got through in 45 minutes and got our NVC number. The lady who helped him said she had no idea what he was talking about RE: the bad weather message. So strange.

So it took exactly a month for us from NOA2 to NVC. Now we sit at the NVC. I'm so confused about the next step. Where am I meant to create an account etc? I tried looking at the PDF at the start of this thread but my confusion level has transcended haha.

How do you get through? The numbers I call just have an automated message then it turns off the call.
