Can I file I485 after i130 is approved?

We filed our i130 back in April and we’re trying to get everything together for the rest of the AOS package including the payment. On June 17th our i130 was approved, can I still send in out AOS? We didn’t think we would be approved so fast.  We also needed to take time because my husband lost his job and we were really tight

on funds until he got his new one.

"You may file your Form I-485 together with your Form I-130, while Form I-130 is pending, or after your Form I-130 is approved. Immediate relatives always have a visa available once Form I-130 is approved."

 

You'll send it to the Chicago Lockbox with a photocopy of the I-130 Approval notice: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/all-forms/direct-filing-addresses-for-form-i-485-application-to-register-permanent-residence-or-adjust-status

Congrats on getting your I-130 approved. Did you file online? That was very quick. Your experience down the road will be better with the I-130 already in the bag. You'll see.
