Parents plan on IR5 interview soon in Honduras. However, documents are out of date since the interview got cancelled in early 2020. So do we bring updated documents to the interview? Is it just the updated affidavit of support and updated police report? And what happens if we don't pass the interview, would the officer give you another opportunity to upload the proper documents like finding additional sponsor

I would bring updated documents.  If they need them and you don’t have them, they will complete the interview and put it in AP(Administrative Processing-usually appear as denied but just a technical term for their system) and continue processing once received.  If you can bring in the current forms it will make it go faster.

For missing documents, Consulate Officers always allow the opportunity to provide what is missing.

You don’t start over.  The interview is complete and you just provide updated documents.  If you can get them ahead of time, it keeps things moving.

Thanks for response. IF the consular officer feels the original sponsor does not make enough income or insufficient would we be given an opportunity to add an additional sponsor? Also, would a denial cause current tourist visa to be cancelled?

They will request a joint sponsor .

It will slow the process down until you provide the paperwork needed from a joint sponsor. Best get that lined up if you are concerned and take all the joint sponsorship to the interview

An outright denial may certainly create difficulties with entering on a visitor visa due to their previously declared intention to immigrate .. but if the IO has requested more paperwork then that’s not a denial
