[Waukegan, IL] Any suggestions on going early for Biometrics Appointment ?

I received today the biometrics appointment letter for both my parents for 6/30. This is definitely good news as i had just received the receipt for I-485 on 5/25.

My parents were going to visit my sister in another state and had a ticket for 6/20. It is not a big deal if we have to reschedule it but due to 4th of July coming up there are travel plans around 6/30.

I was planning to see visit the center next week to see if we can get the biometrics done earlier so hopefully i don't have to change the flight.

Any suggestions or thoughts ? I read that some say to go on Wednesday. I presume there is no harm in atleast trying ?

Thanks for any feedback.

Officially there are no walkins but I’ve seen a few reports of successful ones. Not sure about Wednesday, that might be office specific, but try for a quiet time in the day as that will probably be your biggest chance of success.

I don’t know, see if the Google page works with the bar chart of popular times  (it needs to be in business hours when you look for it to come up)

interesting suggestion. unfortunately, Google does not show popular times for this USCIS location.

Have you tried before, or how would you know trying on a weekend? The chart only comes up during business hours of the particular office.

The two times I did an early walk-in for biometrics they always told me that 1pm-3pm is the best time to go, they're apparently very busy in the morning. They also told me the day right after a weekend or holiday is usually a bad time too.

Worked great both times for me, but I haven't tried it during the pandemic. And this was obviously a different ASC than yours. If you live fairly close by there's no harm in trying.
