So, I'm wondering....if my wife and I have a very legit financial strain, and I submit an expedition request for her EAD, wouldn't that hurt her 485 packet which, I think, is supposed to indicate whether or not I can support her with my own income if needed?  Thanks for any input.

Well, yes, it could.   Normally one would try to expedite the EAD with a written job offer, rather than extreme financial hardship, for that reason.

Being unable to work at first is part of the deal you signed up for when you chose the K-1.

@Tracer6158, it's hard to say. I have not seen or read of cases denied or questioned about finances because they submitted a request to expedite the EAD. Sometimes people submit the request to expedite and USCIS does not even request evidence. It goes straight to approval.

What I have noticed is that if they do not approve the request, your case remains in the queue awaiting its turn. That's just what I have observed, and of course, that is not representative of all cases.

I-751 Joint Filing.

06-15-2021 - Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken.

05-26-2021 - Received NOA/extension letter. Notice date and postmarked 05-20-2021.

05-23-2021 - Received text message with Receipt #. YSC Potomac Center.

05-21-2021 - Checks cashed (processing on joint checking account)

05-07-2021 - I-751 received in Arizona.

Marriage-based AOS - Concurrent filing.

05-07-2019 - AOS Approved. Resident since date 05/07/2019.

05-06-2019 - AOS Interview

04-23-2018 - "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

03-16-2018 - Priority Date.
