Hello, I'm sure this is already asked and I just can't find it.

Working on helping someone full out the I130 online for his parent and have a few questions:

1. Parent has old resident alien card (the one with the fingerprint), when completing the form online, it asks "Was the beneficiary EVER in the United States?" - should he put yes, even though the parent isn't presently in the USA?

2. He had put yes to the above question and now the form is asking what is the beneficiary's class of admission? -- we see in the old resident card, P22, but that's not available to select from the drop down, the closest we see is the F2B, can he put that?

3. And because he put the F2B, the next question asks "What is the beneficiary's Form I-94 Arrival-Departure Record number?" --- what does he put here, his parent isn't in the USA?

4. And does he need to answer the next questions?

- What was the beneficiary's date of arrival?

- When does the beneficiary's authorized stay expire?

Thank you.

Answer "Yes".  The beneficiary's current location is irrelevant for this particular question.

As for the next 4 questions about class of admission, I-94 record, date of arrival, authorized stay expiration -- answer those ONLY IF the beneficiary is CURRENTLY in the US.  If not, leave blank or write "Not Applicable" if you want.  In our case, we wrote "Not Applicable -- Not in US" on the box for I-94 record, then left the other 3 text fields blank.

Resurrecting this, to see if anyone can lead in the right direction. Filing I130 online for friend's parent and have a few questions:

  1. Form asked for the beneficiary's travel document. He gave his passport number previously, but what does he need to put here?
  2. Now the next section is asking for beneficiary's class of admission (the beneficiary's class of admission is the 3-digit code for the immigrant category under which they were granted their permanent resident status.) He has the old resident card, but it has P22, but that's not available to select from the drop down, the closest we see is the F2B, can he put that?
  3. For the evidence, would the child's birth certificate showing the parent be enough? Or will more be needed?

See my comment above.  The answer hasn't changed from last year.  That section in the I-130 form is only applicable if the beneficiary is CURRENTLY in the US.
