Hi reading from the pinned topic above regarding the documents to show common residency for the interview. Do I really need to add her name to every utility and bank accounts? I'm confused about what is considered acceptable.

Not every utility and bank account. My husband and I have a joint account, but we also have individual accounts. I did not add him to the title of my house. I did add his name to our electric bill and we have cell phones on the same account. I looked into adding him to the gas bill, but the process was a little involved so I put it off - and then forgot about it.  I added him to my health insurance and to my AAA account.

Thanks. I find this process a little bit strange because adding someone's name doesn't really prove we are living together, no?

I guess not, but it does show that you're comingling your accounts and finances.

You don't have to add your spouse to bills and bank accounts, but having shared bills and shared bank accounts would help show a commingled life and make ROC easier.

While I may share an address with roommates.  I don't share bank accounts with them.  People usually only share bank accounts with their spouse.  You can see how that can help show a bona fide marriage for the ROC.  You don't have to share every bank account since many couples do have separate bank accounts.

Also worth saying that you don't necessarily need joint names on everything - showing a mix of bills that are in one of your names but to the same address serves the same purpose.
