Cover Letters

Does anyone have a sample cover letter or suggestions they would be willing to share? (We are adjusting status from visitor visa due to marriage)  If I'm understanding correctly I should have cover letters for the I-130 and I-485 packet, and an overall cover letter. Does the overall cover letter need to list all of the evidence for each packet? Or simply note that there are multiple packets with applicable evidence? Hope that makes sense and thanks in advance for the advice!

Cover letters are not required though some applicants  will send them as you have described

Application  type

Its merely a table of contents of your petition or application.   Pretty straightforward

I attached a redacted version of my cover letter (had to upload as a pdf because I couldn't get the word version to upload, sorry!). We filed a couple of years ago so the forms/addresses might be out of date.

 

1. for the front of the package that listed the forms I filed but didn't list specific evidence
2. One for the I-130 that listed all the supporting documentation.
3. One for the I-485 (which also included I-864, I-765, and I-131).

 Hello! I am attaching my general cover letter which we sent a couple months ago, I am also adjusting from a visitor visa but with an already approved I130 from 2019 (I entered with a B2 visa but had already been married for a few years, it was just a pandemic related change of plans). I received my NOAs about 5 weeks after sending the AOS package and I just got scheduled for biometrics, so no RFE as of now.

 

This is the general cover letter to explain how the whole AOS package is laid out. I also made cover letters for each form where I list every supporting evidence I am attaching.
