Is anyone going through Rio had any movement in their K1 interview status?

IR1/CR1 and Ks are pretty much stalled in the Rio consulate. Have only seen expedites going through

Yeah we've heard that the people who joined the lawsuit were given interview dates.  Haven't heard of anyone else getting through yet though.

I regularly follow the Brazil forum, and also have friends/family in Brazil.  COVID is really out of control there, and is getting worse every day, so the Rio consulate is unlikely to get back to normal visa processing for a very long time.  It's very sad to hear of so many people dying, even some family friends recently.  Good luck!

I spoke to the NVC today and they are not even sending any documents to Rio, she said everything is and has been on hold until further notice.

This is very frustrating to watch people pour across our border and yet, here we are waiting for what seems impossible.

It would be very easy for the Embassy to open and interview via Zoom.....

Yeah now trying to find if any consulates or embassies in South America are even open now to grant a tourist visa while we wait on K1  but seems like Uruguay is the only one with appointments within the next 6 months.

Does Anyone waiting for K1 visa that received a letter or an email from Embassy in the last days?

Our case was accepted  in October 2020 and we are still waiting for a answer.

Some couples from a FB group I joined have recently been scheduled for July and August in Rio.  Haven't seen many updates from the people here on VJ.

I Haven't heard anything.  I'm wondering as well if they are processing Visas.  I know this is the longest waiting period for me (waiting for NOA2).  However, knowing that Rio is moving forward would give me some hope.

Appears they are processing,  just not anyone on these boards yet.

Thank you for that glimmer of hope! It would be nice to know what number we are in the queue they're being processed but I know that's asking too much LOL

If you're still waiting on NOA2 then your case is still with USCIS. The embassy backlog isn't affecting you just yet.  Once your case gets to NVC after NOA2 then it may.
