Hello  everyone , I am  petitioning my mother on family based visa and she is living in Awassa, ethiopia   and we are now on NVC level and police clearance is needed 

  does she need to go to addis ababa to get police certificate  or she can get it from Awassa and get authenticated  by Ministry of foreign affairs Addis Ababa 

I apologize if i post on the wrong forum but i cant find a case related to mine any one know the answer please?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

The only legal body in charge of giving police clearance for visa-related issues is the federal government. From my personal experience, I don't think the regional authority can help you with this. Hence, your benificiary needs to get the police certificate from Addis Ababa, the office located just behind the immigration office. It will take only 2 working days to get the police certificate in hand.

To clarify more on this you may visit the immigration representative office in Hawassa.
