My fiancé will have his K1 interview on Monday and he will move to the US in May. We plan on getting married immediately after he moves and adjust his status.

I notice that the EAD processing times have gotten longer and longer. Sometimes I can take up to one year. When we first applied, it was only taking 3-6 months which is why we did K1 over CR1. Now I’m worried it’s going to take us really long for his to get his EAD/AP. Does anyone know if they are starting to catch up on this at USCIS? Does getting another service center over the other affect processing times? And does anyone Know if Biden has said anything about improving processing times for EAD?

All AOS packages go to the same place, chicago lockbox than NBC. So there's no way to get a different service center. There's still delays, I believe mostly because of biometrics, some places are taking 4-6 months just to get biometrics scheduled, and without biometrics, no EAD.

Is NBC the National Benefits Center? And I haven’t researched much on the AOS process. Do they contact you for biometrics some time after applying for AOS? How early did you do biometrics pre-Covid? Does that happen at your local USCIS field office? thank you! Sorry for so many questions

Yes.

Yes.

1 month, now I've seen people waiting almost 1 year for biometrics.

Biometrics are done at ASCs.

3.5-11.5 months, per the processing times for EAD on USCIS.gov.  Unfortunately, that is a well-known drawback of the K-1.
