Travel whilst waiting for green card

Hello all,

Our AOS interview is scheduled for 24th March and I’ve learned that I need to travel internationally for work on 25th April. What could I do if my green card wasn’t through by then? May I travel on my combo card? I’m guessing not, but I’m not sure what my other options would be.

Many thanks in advance.

Ask for an I-551 (green card) stamp to be placed in your passport.

Oh, that’s great news that they have a contingency like that. And if I’m not approved on the spot, would I just have to go to the office once I am to get the stamp? Thanks, @aaron2020!

Ask the officer at your interview.

Once you get approved, you will need to call USCIS to make an Infopass appointment to get your stamp.

That makes sense. I forgot they were still doing InfoPass appointments. Thanks again.
