Hi all, I've been unable to find this anywhere but I am wondering a few things:

1. Does the birth certificate have to be apostilled?

2. My fiance is from Romania but has lived in Spain since the age of 16. I am assuming he will need to show a background check from both countries. My question is does anyone know the specific name of the background check he needs to request? I ask because he had to present a Romanian background check here in Spain and he had gotten one type but was denied and had to request a different type which was then approved. I'm unsure if there are two different types of background checks in the country or how that works but any insight would be great!!

3. Can these documents be requested in advance? We are about 5 months in on our process and the last time he asked for the birth certificate and background check + apostille it took about 3 months to arrive... so figured maybe we should go ahead and request them?
