Getting my spouse a green card "again," years later

Hello!  This website was a great resource way back when for me when we were going through getting my wife a green card at the time to come to the U.S.  To make a long story short, we got the green card back then, lived in the U.S. for a few years, and then returned to her home country, Japan.  When we left, we didn't do anything in terms of the green card, we just kinda peaced out and returned to Japan, almost say 5 years ago at this point now.  She had an ITIN as well which we never did anything with after leaving.  Anyhow, we were recently talking about maybe moving back to the U.S. in perhaps the next, say, 5, 10 years'ish.  And I would like to know if there's anything that I may have left "unclean," which could result in delay or rejection of an attempt to get her another green card again in the future.  This is a far future thing, but if there's for example any forms or anything I should filling out (even retroactively), I'd like to get any incorrect situation corrected so that if we need to go this route again, it goes smoothly.

2013-04-10: I-130 sent to Chicago

2013-04-15: I-130 received by USCIS (e-mail/text message)

you will have the same level of difficulty or ease as before... more on the easier side.   you will need to be in the U.S.  before her arrival though . there is no requirement to be in the USA when you submit the paperwork.

They will no doubt expect you to file a I 407

Have you two been filing your tax returns with the IRS?

Thank you for your reply.  I have been filing every year as "Married filing separately," marking her as "NRA" for her SSN (as written in the instructions), and just reporting my own income.  She has no income from any U.S. sources, no citizen/green card status; basically no connection to the U.S. other than being married to me.

Roger that, I-407...just looked it up.  We left the U.S. years ago, so it's really kind of late at this point, but for completion's sake I may submit this with an explanatory letter just to make sure things are tidied up.
