Hello,

I filed our I-129F application on April 23rd 2020 with an NOA1 of April 29th 2020. It is currently at the CSC but we have not received any info since then. The USCIS processing times says they are currently processing applications from June 9th 2020. On January 23rd 2021 we used the USCIS website to file an inquiry because our case is outside normal processing times. We received this response on the 1st of February 2021:

Thank you for your inquiry. We recognize your interest in the final adjudication of your pending application/petition and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing. We regret we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will review your case but the California Service Center is committed to processing this workload. We will be making every effort to adjudicate your case in the most efficient manner based on our available resources. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Does anyone know what else we can do to try and get an update as to why our case seems to be taking so long? I see a lot of other people with similar timelines as us that have received their NOA2 1-2 months ago. We are worried something is wrong with our case but don't know what we can do to further investigate.

Thank you for any help

Every cases are different, there is nothing you can't do except waiting for it. 9 months is normal before the pandemic so you are okay now.

Thank you. Is it not unusual to be outside the processing window and seeing other cases filed 1 month after us being approved 1-2 months before ours?

Accordingly, CSC is reporting June 9, 2020.  Any petition older than that is eligible for a service request

YMMV

I did. This is what they said:

Some petitions just take longer to adjudicate, for a variety of reasons.  Nothing to do but continue to wait.

Then, there is not much else you can do at this point.  As the distinguished member @geowrian once said, "USCIS is like a grocery store.  Some checkout lines take longer than others".  Then, the pandemic has affected everyone, too.  Hopefully, you will have an approval soon.

I never received any notification from the NVC and also saw others who files after I did move forward.  The NVC finallly sent an email stating that our application was sent to to consulate (Thailand). So maybe they also skipped you on information like receiving your app from CA service center.

NVC doesn’t send notifications that they received your petition. You have to call yourself to get a case number after which you can track it on CEAC.

We are about to get our interview. It will be on the same day and same embassy as two others that I know about from this site. We submitted two months earlier than both of these other couples, and we were outside the stated processing times. I'll never know why ours took longer. From what I've read here, you would know by now if something was wrong with your application. Hang in there and keep checking in.
