Questions about documents to bring to interview

Hi all,

My wife and I have our green card interview on January 14th. I am nervous beyond all else and I have a few questions about documentation to bring:

1. I changed positions at my current place of employment, which moved me up to full time, do I need to print a revised copy of my I-485 form with the new position on it, along with paystubs? I have access to all of my documents on my computer.

2. My wife and I still live with my parents and have no bills outside of our phone bill under our name. We have two separate bank accounts (one of them is a joint account), accessible under one account/login. What documentation will be acceptable if we don’t have bills under our name?

 3. In relation to the first question, what if I don’t have a duplicate copy of my forms, but have handwritten copies?

1. Take your new employment letter. My wife changed her job 2 weeks before our interview she was the petitioner,  during the interview  the first question was ,anything changed we said yes and show him the new employment letter.

2. You can all.the evidence you sent with your application plus any new additional evidence you have AFTER sending the application

3. Bank statements or bills should show both names . If you have individual accounts that's not relevant just print the joint account statement.

The officer can make all necessary adjustments during your interview.

Good luck

My employer uses The Work Number. Should I bring my paystubs starting from September 2020 (when I started the new position at the same company)? Along with paystubs, should I print out the ones that came after submitting the application? I just looked at my bank statements dating back in March/April and it has my main account and the joint account (I have a main and a joint account because to not mess with my direct deposit at work).

Take anything u feel is relevant to your case, if they don't need it, u will just bring it back.

Imagine going there and the officer ask for a document that you have but u left it at the house,  this will result to a RFE and will delay your approval.

Remember the purpose of the interview is to justify to the officer that your marriage is real and it was not done for the interest of obtaining a Green card.

I brought paystubs, up to the most current one, to the interview. It doesn't matter that the bank statement shows both accounts, as long as it does include the joint account. @Ras Ous  gives good advice in telling you to take along anything you feel is relevant. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. We had a huge folder filled with stuff we thought we might need, and wound up needing very little of it, but since you never know what they are going to ask for, just take it all.  Best of luck to you!
