One year contract requirement

Hello everyone, I hope everybody is doing well during this pandemic. I have a very interesting question and I hope someone is close to this topic and knows the right answer. So basically I’m currently Documentary qualified[DQ] in NVC stage and waiting for interview notice from NVC. last message I received in Feb 20, 2020 from NVC was about my case F2B category [ unmarried sons and daughters 21+ age of lawful permanent resident] getting DQ and it stated that we should wait for receiving interview date in Embassy. However, as everyone knows Trumps proclamation stopped everything. Therefore, as I know there is a law about One Year Contact requirement [You can see it at the end of this post] and my question is does this applies to me? Should I contact NVC before Feb 20? Or There will be no problem as I am documentary qualified. if anyone was in same situation during this time or has any kind of knowledge about this topic let me know please. Thank you so much.

 

As it is stated in this section :

One Year Contact Requirement: Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) section 203(g) provides that the Secretary of State shall terminate the registration (petition) of any alien who fails to apply for an immigrant visa within one year of notice of visa availability. The petition may be reinstated if, within two years of notice of visa availability, the alien establishes that the failure to apply was for reasons beyond the alien’s control. Therefore if you do not respond to notices from the NVC within one year you risk termination of your petition under this section of law and would lose the benefits of that petition, such as your priority date.

Not required as you are already at DQ stage. Just wait for the embassy to schedule your interview.
