Here are the current processing times, as per that link: As of 24-AUG-2020, we are working on cases that were received from USCIS on 13-AUG-2020.

In my case, the intending immigrant was emailed the welcome letter. Can't say if we got a physical copy too. It shouldn't be a long wait for you based on my experience, but keep looking at that link for the most up to date information.

👐

Patience......patience.

im just wondering how long does the nvc take to send you the welcome letter? do they send it to me through mail or email? thanks.

it may vary for everyone and might depends on the type of the visa. i got a welcome letter and case creation from the NVC next day after they approved my I-130. my husband didn't get any physical letter from the NVC.

When we had our case, there was no electronic transfer so it took a week for our case to arrive and another 3 or so to get our case number. I think things are much faster these days with IOE and all. But both the petitioner and beneficiary will get an email when the case is created. The beneficiary got a paper mail about it as well, but not until a month later, when we had already submitted everything since we had already gotten the case # a month earlier from email

Our CR1 Journey:

  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)

  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
