My initial interview was scheduled for April 3, 2020 and then it was de-scheduled due to COVID-19.

On July 28, 2020 I received a notice for next appointment which is on August 24, 2020 (hopefully) it stays.

I am in Washington state. Most Field Offices and Application Support Centers have opened back up starting July 27, 2020 so I do not understand why they would de-schedule your interview. As someone stated, it is your choice whether you want to go or not.

Little update my friends)) I didn't go. I was reading that USCIS computer can schedule interviews automatically but if they're not ready to interview you they will cancel it. Right after I filed in February my "estimated completion time" was August 2020 (before COVID), got my biometrics letter and get it done in March no problem then COVID happened I wasn't even hoping for an interview and honestly was surprised my estimated completion time was still "August". I guess their computer scheduled my interview automatically but they were just not ready to interview me yet because they were closed for at least 2 months and they need to interview people who got "cancelled". I assume most USCIS field offices were closed for at least 2 months, now, in my opinion everyone's interviews would be delayed by at least a month and "estimated time" would increase a little bit for everyone. Estimated completion time for me now is September 2020 and my status is "interview is cancelled".

Also, I noticed they generally schedule N-400 interview a month in advance, mine was scheduled just 2 weeks in advance.

Thank you.

Two of my friends had also applied back in September 2019 and both of them had their interviews before me, they are already US citizens now. I guess it just depends on our luck and also the state where you filed. My friends had filed in Louisiana and New York. Ohio has had even shorter processing times like two months.

If you have decided not to go, just make sure that you have a cancelation notice either in mail or posted on your online portal (just as a proof of cancelation). When mine was canceled, I had not received a notice and I had called USCIS; the operator told me it was still scheduled but about 4 days later, I received the cancelation notice.
