Advice on immigration

Hi,

I, my wife & son are Canadian permanent residents. My wife (naturalized) and son (by birth) are US citizens. We have been married for >4 years at this point, and co-own assets (/list the other spouse as beneficiary) in both US and Canada. I lived and worked in the US for quite a while when I moved with family to Toronto with the same employer. My wife is a homemaker, and I am the breadwinner. I reached out to my employer about moving back to California, and they are supportive of the move, so long as I am able to obtain work authorization on myself. I had some questions around this process that I would really appreciate your guidance on -

  1. Given that my wife (petitioner) does not have income to show, I (beneficiary) have adequate income to show before and after relocation (given the employer support), and we co-own a decent amount of assets in US and Canada, will we be able to address the minimum income requirement? Should we look for a suitable joint sponsor?
  2. Would you advise I hire an immigration attorney for my spousal permanent residency? Is it simple enough that I can pursue this on my own (filling forms / providing documentation)?
