(Filed in November 2020) Received a notice in the mail today stating that they will be reusing my biometrics (same notice I got during ROC). Online case status has not updated to reflect. Estimated case completion still shows as August 2021.

My interview is scheduled for Jan 21st, so not too long to wait.

It doesn't mention anything about my pending I-751 or if I should bring my wife to the interview, so I'm going to have to try and find out if it will be a combo interview

Hey how did your interview go? could you please share your experience pls, I have my interview on 27th January. Thank you

Interview went great and I took the oath there and then and left as a US Citizen

When you arrive you'll go through security at the door and then someone will check your temperature and check you in, you'll then go upto the 2nd floor and wait to be called.

The interview was very straightforward, went over the paperwork, asked if I wanted to submit any extra documents, confirmed all my details were correct etc.

First part was the reading/writing test which is done on an iPad, I had to read "When is Thanksgiving" and write "Thanksgiving is in November"

Next was the Civics test, I got through this very quickly

Finally went through all of the yes/no questions on the form

Then the officer took me through the Oath, gave me my certificate and a little US flag, and took me through how to apply for a passport and register to vote.

Honestly it was very straightforward, but the officer was really nice and friendly and made it a really fun experience. The entire process only took around 90 mins.

Good luck for your interview next week, you'll be fine :)

My interview went smooth. History questions first, then reading and writing. After that, we just went over the N-400 form. Oath right on the spot and got my naturalization certificate right away.

I had my N400 interview yesterday Jan27th 2020 at 12:45 PM.  The security personal was very strict didn't allow us to enter before 12:30 PM . I went to 2nd floor after security check also checking in a counter in ground floor.

Waited 15 mins in waiting hall in 2nd floor and my name was called by an Agent who took me to her office , put me on oath and then started asking yes/no questions from the form. asked me my Id, green card, passport and SSN. and then returned my DL,SSN and passport and kept my GC.

Make me write two sentences in a TAB " 1. Columbus Day is in October & 2.Washington DC is the capital of USA" .

Reading test - "when do we celebrate Columbus Day"

Civics Test

1. Who is the speaker of the house

2. How many voting member in US house of rep

3. First President

4. Why do we have 50 stars in US Flag

5. Forgot the other two questions :)

But i answered all 6 correctly and then she again started with yes/no questions . i didn't mention my Traffic ticket for stop sign , so when she asked i said yes one stop ticket and i paid the fine,. she wrote that in her computer, i was scared about that, she made me sign that info in the tab.

She said all looks good and the system will do a quick background check and we should be good. but her system kept on showing pending status and it was nerve racking for me and she said her system is slow and that could be the reason for the delay. she kept on refreshing the page few times, took 3-5 mins for the screen to show approved and then she printed few pages and said you are approved and i will give you an oath ceremony now :).

then she gave me an oath ceremony and took me too the hall and gave me my naturalization certificate a flag and some pages in envelop on how to file my passport.   yaay HAPPY this is over.

Thank you guys.

I know a lot of people here are getting naturalized after immigration through marriage. All things being equal, does anyone think that the naturalization process is quicker for those who immigrated through avenues other than marriage?

I think the time line is similar in for all ways of naturalization. it all depends on each persons application. The more a person traveled to different country or lived in different state in USA, the background check takes time. once that is done you are in a queue as First come first serve.

I know some one whose got naturalized through Work visa and the timeline of filing the N400 and getting interview date was similar to mine.
