How does K1 have to do with his ban?

It's been discussed throughout the many threads on this topic that some embassies (most) are treating the K-1 in with the other visas that they think are being banned for now. Some embassies are in the phase opening schedule and are beginning to work on their backlog of Cr1 visas then they will move onto the K-1 etc.

According to a State Department spokesperson, 97 overseas posts are in Phase I and 35 are in Phase II of reopening.
Under Phase I of the department's reopening plan, "Diplomacy Strong," up to 40% of "non-vulnerable employees" may be brought back, and under Phase II, 40% to 80%, according to an overview of the plan.

@Greenbaum how is it possible for embassies to interpret the presidential proclamations differently with respect to impact on K-1s?  Is there no explicit guidance from the state department?

Is there regularly updated list of embassies that are open Phase1/2/3 and which visas they are processing - either kept here on VJ or elsewhere online?  I see reports on VJ that K-1s are being processed in Taiwan, New Zealand, maybe others, but its all unverifiable hearsay as far as I'm concerned

The answer to your first question simple is "the man who has the gold makes the rules". Wrong or right - what you think it should be is not many times what is interrupted from an agency. This is the case with the proclamation and K-1s.

I have not come across an updated list. If you find one, please share it with us. But stay in touch with your embassy's website for further details. Your embassy is not going to be the same as someone else's.

I agree with your hearsay on the interpretation, but the embassy website is what is the current processing procedures that are in place.
