You got to respect her, agree with her political view points or not.  She is one tough ol broad, who has spent a admirable life fighting for what she believes in. Wish her the best.

She's a personal hero. I collect RBG ephemera. I keep these ones by my bedside -- a special present I got from the last time everyone was on death watch for her.

When I think things are tough for me personally, I remember what grit she had to succeed at the time she was moving up in the world and kicking butt. As a role model, she's got to be one of the best. Thinking of you, RBG. ❤️

I'm not a fan of the skewed narrative of her, the same people nowadays putting her up on a pedestal tend to bash her for her ruling on "hate speech" being inconsistent with the First Amendment. Nonetheless, I think one of the most important things that deserves highlighting is her relationship with someone that was her political opposite, Justice Scalia. Political polarization has worsened to a degree where "dissenting" views are "harmful", and now more people are behaving in more malicious ways, rather than simply tolerating the fact that others disagree with them, there's this idea of "destroying" people one disagrees with because apparently the sum of a person is merely their political views. Scalia and Ginsburg's relationship for many years was cool but not exceptional because it was normal, now apparently it isn't, and I long for those days, even though they seem pretty much gone now in rapid fashion.

Same here! We should not consider anyone above criticism, I think. But we can still take inspiration from the lives others lead. I take inspiration from hers, even though she is human and fallible like the rest of us. :)

Why not inspire yourself?  I for one hope RBG recovers and lives a long life, she was actually able to tolerate differing opinions and is a true Liberal, not a Leftist like today.

What is the harm in looking to how others have handled challenges? I only have my own life experience, which has its limits. While looking inside -- with a critical eye -- is useful for me, there are so many stories of courage and resilience and brilliance and success to draw upon. No man, as John Donne wrote, is an island -- we are interconnected as humans, and we learn from each other's triumphs and failures.

Off to read Donne's Meditation XVII, now that I think of it.

No harm in educating oneself about other’s successes, this is how we learn to be successful ourselves.  My only point is no one deserves to be worshipped as an idol.
