Hello,

My fiance and I have begun filling out the 1-129F. The issue is, he lives in rural Ecuador, a small town called Puyo...they have provinces but no house numbers or street names. How would we go about filling out the address portion for hi information?

I asked him, if I were to send him something, where would I send it and he gave me what we would equate to a UPS of sorts there.

Background: I have met him, I've known him for 9 year...I lived with his aunt and uncle in a more rural area of Ecuador, he did not live there at the time so I assumed that where he lived wasn't as rural as where his family lived...I assumed wrong I suppose.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Put in what they have.   My wife's address is the Philippines was the same way - no house number.  Didn't affect the petition approval.

Address for Beneficary says

If the bene lives outside the US and home has no street address,  leave 11a and 11b blank

Make sure on your application you give a good email ID where asked for one

As when i did this,  i recd the 1st receipt (in US to my street address as petitioner)

after this all correspondence was by email

Ecuador does have postal codes of 6 digits

1st 2 specify the providence,  the next are the district and last 2 the zip

We had a similar situation in the Dominican Republic.  Rural towns don't have house numbers or even street names.  They rarely receive mail, but whoever delivers the mail will most likely know them or the family.  Often, mail is delivered to one location in the village/town and they pick it up there.  I ended up putting the street address as "road with Maria de Hostas School", the town and the province.  There was no postal code so I checked "unknown".  Whatever you choose, keep it consistent on all the forms.

We used Plus Codes. Google Map supports it. We pinned the location in Maps and it gave us a Plus Code.

You can see how to do it here: https://support.google.com/maps/answer/7047426
