Received an email to say that they Re reviewing our request to expedite. 
 

Not liking our chances, but it didn’t hurt to apply.

Email from ustraveldocs/consulate, or the NVC? When I have spoken to the NBC they say it’s up to the Consulate to contact them... then you contact the consulate and they say the NVC needs to request it of the Consulate...

 

mind you mine is K1, vs the cr1... and I’m sure that makes a difference.

We got an email saying that the NVC are reviewing the Expedite request, so here is hoping.

 

I hope we get some news soon, then we need to work out if we ever get the visa will they accept it and let us out of the country.

Does anyone know how long it takes for an expedite to be reviewed and approved? We got an email saying they got the request 2 weeks ago, then last week another one saying they are reviewing it.

I’ve heard it takes around 2 weeks. Remember it was 4 July long weekend and the US consulates would still take off for it too. 
 

Maybe try emailing? 
 

And I know someone who has an interview end of this month but they were approved expedite! So no word on usual interviews

Our request for expedite was APPROVED! I got the email about 45 mins ago! 
 

Awaiting correspondence from the Consulate in Sydney for interview date etc! 
 

 Just as VIC will most likely go into lockdown 🙃

We got an email today also approving the expedite through to the US Consulate, let us know if you hear anything and i will also.

Well it has been a rough couple of days of news for Victorians. Wondering if people from Victoria get their interview while there is this border closure with NSW whether attending the interview would fit into an exemption.

Well looks like the Sydney embassy isn't processing visas for another 6 weeks. 

 

But those above who got their expedites approved congratulations and best of luck with organizing the actual interview.

@Lelly  I'm thinking those not caught in the lockdown net should be able to get a border closure permit and interview approval (long as they got expedited) to get across to NSW but sadly those caught in the lockdown are stuck for the next 6 weeks. I'm unsure if other states are affected by this though, would love to know.

I'm caught in the lockdown even though the mitchell shire only has 19 cases, but we are in that corridor so I can understand why.

Expedite means they see an emergency in your situation to fast track the interview. So I would see that as essential and I believe permits would be granted. 
 

I am in lockdown in VIC and I am confident I will get a permit to enter NSW and that my travel is deemed “essential” - my presence is requested by the US Government. I will need to self isolate upon RE-entry into VIC which is more than fine.
