864 - Employment while furloughed due to COVID

Recommended Posts

Hello all, just tackling the massive changes our packet is undergoing since it was sent back (previous post can explain all that craziness)

I'm looking over my 864, and I'm wondering if, since I am Furloughed for COVID and Not laid off/fired, if I can just keep my employer and income on there as is, and just include a joint-sponsor for safety, in case by the time we get an interview I haven't gone back to work.

Does that sound good? I'd really rather not put that I am unemployed with zero income, just because I'm furloughed right now.

The only legal path is to provide an I-864 that is current. It is signed under threat of perjury.

Thanks guys. My sister is going to co-sponsor and her income is like $100K so hopefully that will mitigate the problem. This 944 is taking so long maybe I'll have my job back before the materials are gathered. Hahahaha.....
