You need 2 passport style photos to upload. Here on the State Departments website it will give you guidelines https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html

So given that you you need to bring them to your interview and with COVID19 right now,  most places will not allow you to take pictures. Can we out N/A and explain why?

Also, it says they are valid for 6 months. I know that by the time my interview comes around, they will be expired...

Most places in US won't be open for passport photos right now but other countries will be. And you need to TRY rather than assume they wont be open for passport photos. Also there is the option of doing the passport photos yourself as long as you go by the guidelines the State Department website has stated.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html

Also if the passport photos are older than 6 months old than just retake them before the interview and bring the new ones.

You would need to check with your country of residence; guidelines and law. Currently only essential activities are allowed by persons in most countries. Also you may want to check if the visa medical location is open. London for example is closed
