I check the U.S portal this morning to know the available appointment date for interview and I was happy 10th of March is free. I made the visa payment few minutes hours ago and on logging in to confirm payment the date has changed to 24th of March. That's for Abuja, Nigeria and I change my interview location to Lagos to check if I must travel to Lagos to have it done there but the available appointment date there is 6th of May. I must be in U.S on 18th of March for what I'm going for.

I have paid for the visa. Please what can I do??? Please advise. It's not time to cause or abuse. Please share helpful information. Thank you.

I would make other plans.  I think your plan of reaching the US prior to March 18th might be a bit optimistic.  I suspect there are a lot of people attempting to get to the US quickly....so their slots fill very quickly.  You might keep trying in case a cancellation happens.

Ooh, it’s usually tough to get such a short notice slot at any embassy. If there is some sort of family emergency you can usually contact the consulate directly with the reasons and they can do an expedited appointment for those. Other than that all you can do is keep checking regularly and hope someone cancelled and a slot opens up.

There really is nothing you can do except keep checking to see if a slot opens up because new appointments are added or there are cancellations.

Because you very recently were denied a vIsa to attend a conference, there is no way you would be approved for any sort of emergency appointment to apply for a visa for exactly the same thing.

You are displaying desperation to get to the USA considering your recent refusal and the question you asked about switching application from student to worker. The advice to you was save yourself the heartache, and the advice remains the same.

Alternatively for really serious cases like medical emergency you could request an expedite, however in your case the probability of approval of expediting is almost exactly zero.

Your best bet is to sit behind the computer 24/7 and checking and hoping someone cancels and then you quickly grab the open slot. I know in Ghana there are boys at the internet cafes who get paid to hunt for open slots for people.

Good luck.

Not relevant.  Visas must be paid for without regard to any sort of interview timeline or approval.
