Has anyone gone through this? Hubby's interview went very well but at the end he was asked to produce a police cert from one of the countries he once lived in which we should receive by latest, this Monday. I'd like to know how it went for anyone who received instructions to submit doc(s) and passport to DHL. How long did it take to obtain your visa? Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks!

Same thing happened on my interview last year August. It took them four months to get back to me. I was finally approved when I submitted the police report. I'm already in the states.i hope this help.

Processing times for 221g vary greatly between different international posts. Since all mail entry must follow strict security protocols, and then be assigned to the correct case worker and then actually be worked on, it can take between a few days, few weeks, few months.

My medical exam hadn’t arrived at the consulate yet during my interview, so I was in AP for 8 days until they received and issued my visa. This was in Frankfurt. Like said, everywhere is different. You’ll just have to be patient and hope for a quick resolution.

If all you need is the police record and the send the passport with it/they kept the passport, you’ll likely be approved if the record is clean. Usually they request passports to be shipped in if there is probable belief the case can be issued a visa. I’m not saying they will, but it seems likely. No guarantees. Good luck!

Did you do anything after your interview? Or just waited it out? I had my medical after my interview and CEAC still shows administrative processing (5 days since medical now). Wondering if there is anything I can do at this point?

I did my medical a whole week BEFORE my interview, so they probably got it in the mail immediately around the time I performed my interview but it wasn’t cleared yet into the consulate.

All I did was I sent an email a week after my interview to inquire if my medical had indeed arrived. They confirmed the arrival and notified me that the visa was in the process of issuance.

like missileman said, your main action is to wait, like with absolutely everything related to immigration.
