I don't know if you could do that or maybe changed now but when my parents were migrated to the US.  My sister filed for both of them in one application.  My mother was the beneficiary and father was also qualify as the husband.  Maybe things changed I would like to know more thanks

Nothing has changed, Parents are Immediate Relatives and are petitioned individually.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Oh nice! We really are in the same situation but I haven’t started the NVC process yet. I’m still waiting for my husband to get back to work since he was furloughed because of Pandemic crisis. Can you please keep us posted?☺️

I wasnt checking at all, but then I received the NVC email and It was really a surprise! ☺️

Hello maybe they have filed for your mother As the main beneficiary and your father as a derivative, in my knowledge if you are qualified as the “immediate relative“ of Petitioner you can not apply as a derivative of a principal alien applicant.

Yes you are right, Both parents qualify as immediate relative so needs to be petitioned separately.

We luckily got NVC case numbers for my mother and father. When my husband applied for me, I sent an email to NVC appointing him as my agent and giving his address. Should we do the same with my parents for me? I came to the US 13 years ago, so I'm not sure about the process anymore and any step by step guides would be appreciated!

VJ has a guide.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I am sorry to post in your post, but I file for my mother in December 2019, received the I-797-C. Which says my case has been forwarded to Potomac center and instructions to creat online account.

Online status showing

In Process

Your benefit request has been accepted and is under review.

does that mean, the new president ban won’t effect my case?

they still processing the cases or everyone is effected.

thank you in advance
