I-130 in Arizona

Hi,

 

I mailed my I-130 form for my wife to the Arizona lockbox location as I live in Arizona. However, I don't see any information on processing times in Arizona. Do these get transferred out, and if so, to where?

 

I'm hoping it's not California as from what I can see, they are taking years to process I-130s. Is this accurate?

IR I-130 petitions (CR and IR visas) are not sent to CSC. CSC handles family preference cases (including those from LPRs who naturalize while it is pending).

 

I-130s are handled at service centers.

I'm confused by your comment. You say I-130s are not handled by California Service Center (CSC), but are handled by Service Centers... (and you include a link that shows CSC)?

I-130s for an immediate relative (IR) of a US citizen are not assigned to CSC.

 

I-130s are handled by Service Centers (SCs). Arizona does not have any SCs.

You said "I don't see any information on processing times in Arizona". That's because there are no SCs in Arizona.

 

Some Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) submitted an I-130 that was assigned to CSC (because they are not IR cases). Those people later became citizens. So now they are IR cases but they are still at CSC.

That's why you would still see some (but not many) cases in that link at CSC.

 

As another note, VSC usually handles more "complex" cases, hence why there are only a few there as well.

So you're saying my filing will probably not be processed in California? Is there any way to guess where it will be processed? Is it based on geography and as such, might it be fair to assume it will be processed in Texas?

It shouldn't be CSC unless USCIS changes their assignment logic. But it's been that way for years.

It probably won't be VSC unless there are some unusual circumstances (specific criminal offenses involving minors, the husband/bride is a minor, etc.).

No way to know which one it will be beforehand, though. Most right now tend to go to Nebraska (NSC) and Texas (TSC).

I got my NO1 after 5 days, up until now I’m still waiting for the approval but should be out anytime next week. I Hope! They will mail you NO1 as soon as they receive your application.
