Mistake on DS260

On the section of the DS260 that asks to put social media handles, my mom left a letter off one of my social media handles. She called NVC to ask them to reopen the form to make the correction but they said it was not a critical error. She asked if the error should be made known at the interview and the agent said yes. However I am a bit worried. Has anyone has any experiences with making a mistake on the DS260 and informing the CO at the interview. @dwheels76 any advice? I'm new to the forum but I have noticed in other topics you seem to be very knowledgeable.

You can always fill and submit another ds260 if that would make you feel better. Don't need to pay the fees again, just email nvc and let them know about it and the number of the new form. The new form should get updated automatically in their system but better safe than sorry 😊

Before your interview @ the consul.. Your ds260 will be check by the embassy employee @ the counter... So list all your mistakes in DS260 so that you will not forgot it.

My personal experience with typographical errors was not my doing but the doing of the joint sponsor who missed info on the AoS paperwork. The nice thing about the Trinidad embassy is there's a lady who reviews/changes/corrects anything that is missing/incorrect/misspelled, etc. when she is going thru the packet of evidence brought to the interview. She corrected and initialed where she made changes, put a sticky note with some scribbles on it (a note she made for the IO) and handed me back what she didn't need.

Thanks alot for the info...I was a bit concerned, even though it's literally just a letter that's missing

Just makes sure you bring all originals documents uploaded... Check the remarks on your nbi clearance. It is very important.. If the remarks is (no record on file or no deragatory record) you are Okey... But if your remarks is (no criminal record) expect a 221g..your birth certificates... Makes sure you corrected all the mistakes PSO, and get a Certificate of no merriage in PSO if you are 18 years old and above. to avoid delay..
