In theory you should enter Canada on your Canadian passport. But I don't know how strict they are on this.

Yes that's right, they want people to use their Canadian passport, a friend of mine reminded me that too. Especially because when you come back to Canada this is required...

You could enter on the French passport, but it is preferable.  You could also ask for the visa to be placed in your French passport since you have travel planned.
