2007 or 2017 or both?

Thanks for answering and just to clarify he didn't tell the doctor he used prior it was just an opinion given to Embassy.

Okay so they ultimately felt it was recent enough to require a year ban. Thanks again for answering and best wishes on him getting here and finally being together.

Wouldn't matter. likely still need a test if it was 20 years ago.

I understand the test is required for medical exam however the doctor opinion of usage 1 to 2 years prior vs 10 to 20 years prior can make a huge difference in decision for ban.

Test isn't required for a medical exam.  Jamaica probably routinely does a test, but Canada doesn't (but may start since marijuana is now legal in Canada.)  I'm just saying that anytime guilt is admitted truthfully, the dr probably has to submit a test and then depending on that test result, determine if there is a ban or not.  We can't make blanket statements like oh it was 20 years ago, you're safe.  You're not.  But that doesn't mean that you're automatically banned either if it was 2 years ago either.
