Need advice on potentially cancelling a petition

Hi There! My significant other (sponsor) and I (beneficiary) sent in our I-129F on November 6, 2019. I would like to know if anyone,or anyone that you know, has ever felt the need to cancel their immigration process for any reason. What step were you at when you cancelled and how did you do it? Going through a tough time and I am curious about this just in case.

send a letter to USCIS to cancel  (has to be done by USC)

or

don't follow thru with the I 134 when it goes to NVC

or 

allow it to die out on its own (just in case you change your mind and decide to continue the K1)

The petitioner can send a letter to withdraw the I-129F and that will end the K-1 process.

The beneficiary can only tell the consulate that they don't intend to pursue the visa. This is optional. Otherwise, the I-129F approval will expire on its own.

Nothing is to be done at NVC for a K-1.

we cancelled it near the interview state because we decided to adjust status directly. All it entailed was mailing a letter to USCIS. took quite some time for them to respond to it, but eventually they did.

 

Never make ANY decisions like revoking a petition in anger. There is no rush. You can NOT undo it, but you can drag the process out or simply fail to complete it and it will die on its own.

There have been cases where a k1 petition was withdrawn but it was overlooked and issued anyways. The beneficiary later had issues applying for citizenship. Just a word of caution.
