I read that the petitioner is supposed to make a copy of the front & BACK of their birth certificate but the back of my birth certificate is just plain white so it would be a blank piece of paper..so does this mean I do not need to make a copy of the back? Also I have a passport card instead of the book, it looks like an id, do I need to make a copy of the back of that or is just the front fine?

The instructions for the I-129F no longer state you need a copy of the back of your birth certificate.  Nor does it state to make a copy of the back of the passport card .. but in this case there is more data on the back of the passport card so I would tend to make a copy of that side also

Evidence of U.S. citizenship which may include any of the following:

A. A copy of your birth certificate issued by a U.S. civil authority;

B. A copy of your original Certificate of Naturalization;

C. A copy of your original Certificate of Citizenship;

D. A copy of your Form FS-240, Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States;

E. A copy of your valid, unexpired U.S. passport or passport card issued with a validity period of at least five years; or

F. A statement executed by a U.S. consular officer certifying that you are a U.S. citizen and the bearer of a currently valid U.S. passport.

you dont need to make copy of the back. i sent the front only and i was fine. Like Hank said, if there is something on the back than ok make copies, otherwise a blank piece of paper is useless and a waste.
