She's absolutely right. What her ex did was revenge porn and he should be held accountable.

I have my reservations about Vice (they made my mom look bad in an interview once), but I generally agree with the tenor of the piece. This is beyond a simple porking politician story. If it's true that her ex was behind the sharing of pictures, Hill should take him for every penny she can. Invasion of privacy is (and this one is for you, TBone) a serious tort, for which punitive damages are available. 

 

I have also, in my folly, shared pictures that were not exactly ready for prime time. I know who has them, and we have not spoken in nearly a decade. As far as I know, they have not surfaced. I have occasionally thought about running for public office once I get out of Los Angeles (estimated time of departure: five years) and it does weigh on my mind. We parted on okayish terms, and in some ways they could potentially be embarrassing for him too given that it turned out his marriage was not on the rocks as he had told me (yes, I was a fool) and was apparently "happily" married at the time. If there is anything in my favor, it is that he could be exposed as well.

 

Ah, youth, callow youth. (I was in my mid-30s at the time, which counts as youth these days!)

The moral of the story here is don't take photos of yourself you would not want your mother to see.  This one may be a fight as I had heard Ms. Hill could also be very abusive in her relationship(s), of course this is not an excuse for anyone making public her questionable photos.  In the end, I think she is more upset that people saw her Iron Cross tattoo.  Isn't that a white power symbol?

Kenneth Heslep’s divorce from Katie Hill had grown nasty by the time he told a podcaster in late September that he was ready to talk publicly about his split with the Democratic congresswoman.

“Any interest in an interview, and the whole story yet?” Heslep texted Stephen Daniels, host of “Talk of Santa Clarita,” punctuating the offer with a smiling-face emoji. It was 1:40 a.m.

Daniels declined. “It was clear he wanted to air dirty laundry,” Daniels recalled Wednesday.

Conservative websites soon revealed that they had obtained some of Hill’s private texts and nude photos of her, including one with a campaign aide.

The main authors of the articles, it turns out, were former campaign advisors to Steve Knight, the Republican congressman ousted by Hill a year ago
