K-1 Visa Passport Photo Dates

Hi All

I have a quick question and was wondering whether you could help answer; K-1 Visa requires passport photos taken within 30 days of filing the application. Does that mean within 30 days of the package/visa being posted, or them receiving it themselves at USCIS?

The reason I ask is because I just visited my now fiance in Wisconsin and gave her validated visa photos that I had taken in England. I have no returned to the UK until Christmas. They were taken on October 13th. If she mails it before the 30 days, e.g. November 12th/13th, would they count as valid passport photos?

Thanks in advance!

There isn't anyway that they can tell 30 or 31 days. They just want a photo that look like you with no changes once the visa is issued. For example you have a beard now, you take pictures but 3 months from now you decide to shave it off and now you do no conform to their requirements. Hope this helps.

Thank you for replying! I ask because the visa photos I gave to her had the date printed on them in the bottom right hand corner. Would that be a problem do you think?

That could be a problem. Can you find a place that does photos and send a digital copy to her and have her size them and then print them without the date watermark?

Yes because passport style photos are not dated on the face

YMMV

Exactly, and even if they were dated in the back that could also be a problem if it is older than 30 days. It is better to submit photos with no dates at all, that way they don't exactly know when the photo was taken.
