Hi guys so my wife (LPR) applied for my green card and I am currently overseas and we got our priority date on 26 JUN 2019. I got my I-130 approval on 26 SEP 2019 (form 1-797). So currently NVC is processing my file and they told me they will contact me soon. My question is regarding Visa Bulletin which shows' date for filing' and 'final action date' for F2A visa. For the month of October bulletin it shows F2A visa as 'C (current)' and Date for filing as 1AUG 2019. How can I interpret these dates and which one should I be referring to, 'Final Action date' or the ' Date for filing' date? Or are any of these dates useful to me at all since I already got the approval and now am waiting for NVC to contact me.

So does that mean that apart from the wait due to the processing time there is no other 'waiting period' if my application has become current?

Also this is from USCIS website:

In the F2A category, there is a cutoff date on the Dates for Filing chart.  However, the category is “current” on the Final Action Dates chart.  This means that applicants in the F2A category may file using the Final Action Dates chart for October 2019.

For all the other family-based preference categories, you must use the Dates for Filing chart in the Department of State Visa Bulletin for October 2019

The USCIS instructions don't apply to you. That page is for Adjustment of Status filers - you are going for an immigrant visa abroad and will be dealing with the Department of State (DOS) from now on.

Yes, you petition is current. it's just processing times now - you're essentially in the same line as everybody else who is current (including spouses of a US citizen).

Thank you so much Geowrian. if you don't mind me asking how much time will rest of the process take approximately.

I'll defer to these items from VJ for an estimate. There's time at NVC for processing through Case Complete - which is the same for pretty much everybody - then the time for an interview at the consulate, which varies heavily.

(I know it says CR-1/IR-1, but you're in the same boat as them from NVC onward now.)

Are you sure your PD is in 2019 because that seems super-fast to me.

Hi Chia so yeah its 2019 I m certain. I was very surprised as well. I have heard it takes a while for I130 to get approved. But i got my I-130 approval (form 1-797 notice of action) in 3 months. NVC told me they will send me a correspondence within 30days.
