I am getting ready to submit out I-751.

One of the requirements is to submit a copy of my drivers license.

My drivers license is not “real ID”

will that be problematic?

Not an issue for the I-751.  But consider getting one if it is convenient.

No, some states are not yet ready to comply with the REAL ID law. Beginning Oct 1, 2020 you will need a real ID or your passport to enter federal land, buildings, and fly.

Ok, but uscis will recognize it at as legitimate identification to the federal government if my application is still on their desks in 2020?

Yes, the REAL part is to verify you are not illegal and if your state does not offer it there is not much you can do. I live in KY and it has been nothing but a boondoggle for the state trying to comply with it. So if you live in KY (and some other states) you cannot get a driver's license that complies as a REAL ID.

Do you have a valid passport?

A driver's license is not required so non-issue.

If you are sending as evidence to show you share the same address, then it's just another piece of evidence. I sent two that were no longer valid to show both of us at a previous address. Those licenses weren't compliant with anything or current.
