A legal resident can apply after 3 years of residence AND 3 years of marriage to a US citizen.

So if I'm married to a US citizen, is it only 3 years living there as permanent resident (green card)?

3 years minus 90 days before the 3 years and add time spent outside the USA

plus need to live the previous 3 months in 1 continuous state

be still married to the USC that applied for the visa

other rules apply if divorced
