I'll be moving to the US in 2 months (YAY!! :D), the POE is going to be IAD.

Now preparing the move and starting to pack, I'm not sure if I need to declare all my stuff and if yes, how to do it.

The items I'll be brinking are mostly clothes, shoes, a few books, a laptop and data storage drives, cellphone, personal hygiene items, accessories, important documents such as diploma's and records of my work history, items of sentimental value such as small gifts from family.

Do I need to fill in the 6059B form or is there any other form for immigrants? Do I need to make an inventory list of all my stuff?

I searched cbp.gov but wasn't able to find any specific advice for immigration.

I'll be happy to hear how you guys moved your stuff and if you have any word of advice for me.

K1's are funny since technically they are non-immigration visas, but they are treated as immigrant visas.  That being said, unless you are brining a prohibited item, or cash in excess of $10K I would just fill out the form accordingly (note, the actual form will most likely be at an electronic kiosk at your POE).  I am not aware of any different form for K1s, I think CBP treat K1 entrants like a returning resident.  In my wife's case, when she entered on a K1, she only brought clothes and personal effects.

Good Luck!

If everything is coming with you as accompanies baggage, and it’s all your personal possessions , you only need to declare currency over $10,000 USD, and any items such as food seed etc that is required to be declared. You do not need an inventory of your personal effects

As far as I know, she did not declare anything as everything was personal effects and nothing prohibited.

Personal effects are generally exempt from import duties. As stated above declare if bringing more than 10K in cash and any food items. Other than that you are good to go. Now if you ship stuff separate from your travel you do need to file. Your agent will tell you what they need if that is the case. Again these items are generally exempt from import duties as well but they do need some paperwork. Personally I had one suitcase with just a few clothes in it. The rest I bought new over here.

IMPORT DOCUMENTS DO NOT GET CHECKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carry them in your carry-on. You would not be the first to loose their entire work and school history because someone drove over their bags.
