Hello, I posted this to a different forum and I think it may have been the wrong place to post it.

My fiancée is going through London. American speaking. We are going to be using a co-sponsor to meet the income requirement at the interview for the K1 visa. I am currently unemployed, but receive money from family that’s non-taxable. I’m not currently required to file taxes and never have been, so when I fill out an affidavit of support for my fiancée to take to the interview in London, do I need a verification of non-filing letter from the IRS to give to my fiancée to prove at the interview that I have never filed taxes? Do I need to give her anything besides the affidavit of support to take to the interview for the financial aspect of this if I have no taxable income and we’re using a co-sponsor? Thanks!

You do not give her anything from the IRS.   You simply provide a statement as to why you were not required to file

YMMV

Alright, should it just be like a written and signed note saying that I’m unemployed?

No.  Its because your earnings were less than the minimum filing threshold

YMMV

The UK forum would be a good place to ask London questions.

London does not require a tax return of a K1 if they provide other proof of income, so proving you never filed isn't necessary. Do you have another way to show this income is enough or is it dodgy?

If you use a family member as a sponsor IN LONDON, then they do an I-134 and not the fiancé. One I-134 from somebody who can show they qualify. I would suggest the family member provide their latest tax transcript  as an easy proof of income.

Well, I didn’t make enough to meet the requirements as I’ve been unemployed so no “income” however I have a little bit in savings that was given to me as a gift that I can show and provide a bank statement to back it up, it can surely at least help somewhat to show that but I’m pretty much relying on the co-sponsor to meet the requirements here. So I wouldn’t need a verification of non filing or a note saying I wasn’t required to file?
